Today step back in time and dine in the former B & O Train Depot in Le Roy, now home to the D & R Depot Restaurant. Here they bring back some traditions from the golden days of Railroad in their restaurant. After lunch travel to Medina to visit the Medina Railroad Museum. The museum began its history as a small stone building with only a single ticket agent to assist passengers and answer New York Central Railroad telegraphs. In 1905, New York Central tore down the small structure to begin construction on the 300-foot freight house, now home to the Medina Railroad Museum. It is filled with railroad artifacts and has one of the largest model-train layouts in the country. After your visit, hop aboard a vintage train car dating back from 1947 to 1957 for a scenic fall foliage round-trip train ride to Lockport along the original Erie Canal, where you will be able to view canal locks along the way. Travel home with memories of the railroading days gone by.
